I knew it would happen…
June 24, 2009 · 4 Comments
The Atlanta Braves pitcher, Tommy Hanson, had a nice outing last night. As I was listening to the sports on SNY last night, I was wondering how many google alerts I would get for “mmmbop” that would be about the pitcher.
The first one just came through: “MMMBop! Hanson stifles Yankee batters” is the title of the blog post on Subway Squawkers.
In other news, the Strong Enough To Break presale is now well under way. Head on over to hanson.net to reserve your copy of the DVD, which includes a bonus CD of demos (where Never Love Again was originally listed as being include, and now is not, what gives?) and a complimentary copy of Underneath – the album that resulted from all the record label drama that Strong Enough To Break shows.
Tour dates are still planning on being posted “this week” which could mean, well, anything. HansonTickets.com’s revamp will most likely NOT be premiering before the dates are out – but should be debuting before the start of the tour, at least. Currently, the Tour Talk forum is the only place with an up to date list of what I am looking for, but expect an update to the “help” page soon, which will either also be posted here, or linked here.
If there’s anything else you think should be added to the site – let me know!

Tour is coming / SETB pre-order
June 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Seems like tour details will be released shortly. Perhaps as early as next week. The plan (according to HNet newsletters) is that the tour will begin on the west coast in Bakersfield,California on September 28th. The tour will then run until mid-to-late November.
Rumors are still flying that this will be a “co-headlining” tour, and apparently Taylor had mentioned to someone that hello goodbye will be the other band – but posts mentioning this have been deleted from hanson.net so take that to mean what you will.
Strong Enough To Break is supposed to be released for pre-order on Hanson.net at some point today. Pre-orders will get an instant download of a Piano version of “Get Up And Go”. Hanson.net members who pre-ordered at the members only event should be getting information on how they can get their download at some point today as well.
The new layout for HansonTickets.com was put on hold as I was super busy this weekend, but I hope to get more work done on it over the next couple of weeks. It will be done by the time tour starts, but of course I’d like to have it done before then if at all possible! A list of ticket stubs and set lists that are still needed will be posted on here and various other outlets shortly. (I’m a bit backed up with people who have submitted things so I have to sort through all of that first!)

New Merchandise at the Members Only Event
May 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment
There were 3 new TShirts available at the Members Only Event. 1 was called the “pansy” shirt which has the pansy from the MMMBop video on it and lyrics from MMMBop. The right sleeve says “MMMBop” This shirt is a womens fit and runs small!
Another shirt was a red shirt called “Cola” with HANSON written in a circle.
The final shirt was called “vintage” and was black with a photo of the guys on it.
I purchased the first 2, so images will be coming.
Also available for pre-order was Strong Enough To Break ($25) and the Fall 2009 EP ($12) which is what was recorded at the sessions and what the fall tour will be promoting. No word on when they will actually be released – but from what the guys were saying the SETB DVDs are printed (They were talking about the packaging being cool)
There was also a list of upcoming merchandise – including Mini Hanson a line of clothing for kids and toddlers. A tour survival kit (items including a backpack, thermos, folding chair, tour journal, etc) and a back to school kit (with items including pens, pencils, highlighters, notepads, etc)
More details from the MOE will be posted once I get home and can get everything figured out
2009 Members Kit
April 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment
For each year’s membership kit we try to create something special for those of you who have been most passionate about our music, whether we write and record songs specifically for the purpose of the member kit, create in-depth videos about the making of an album, or in this case give you access to exclusive music created during a special songwriting event that we do each year called ‘Fools Banquet’. We are excited to let you inside and give you 5 special songs that have never been released, as well as tell you the stories of how they were created. Songs like Go, Running Man and Watch Over Me have come out of Fools Banquet over the years, and many more will come in the future. We hope you like this selection of songs from the last few years and their stories.
Track List:
1. I Can’t Wait
2. Wait Here For You
3. All I Have to Give

More on the chocolates…

A photo has been posted to better represent the likeness of the chocolate you will receive should you decide to pre-order the Valentine’s day Chocolates.

Pretty cool looking, but still not worth $3+ a piece…
Hanson Chocolates
January 12, 2009 · 1 Comment
Valentine’s Day Special! The latest addition to the Hanson.net store is Hanson CHOCOLATES!

For $25 you can get 12 chocolates – in 4 different flavors! They sound really tasty, but with shipping they end up being over $3 per piece. I’m not paying that kind of money unless I am enjoying a private concert from Hanson in my living room while eating these!
If you are interested – better hurry – only 200 are available!
(And in a creepy note – the guy on the wordpress dashboard when I went to update the blog is a psychic who was on MTV in I believe 1997 – anyway, one of his predictions was that Hanson would have a chocolate bar. How odd that his blog would be on the main page when I come to update about Hanson adding chocolate to their online store.)
Dress now in the store!
